The three-month deadline for negotiations on the clauses among coalition parties in the Government of National Unity was last Friday.The South African Democratic Teachers Union says it will take the President to court to compel him to announce the date for the implementation of the BELA Act in its entirety.SADTU General Secretary Dr Mugwena Maluleke says the union’s lawyers are preparing papers to be filed early next year.
“We are busy with our legal counsel, preparing papers to file them in early January because for now, the court is in recess. We want the court to compel the President to promulgate the date for the implementation of clauses 4 and 5. So, we are in the particular process.”
