“There are generations of women that we have lost to science because we pushed them out.'

Ann shared how her role deeply connects to her motivation. “I think one of the biggest steps in my life was having my son. Being a role model who is strong and empowered is something especially critical for boys like my son to see.”I attended Samsung’s celebration to honor the national winners of the competition in Washington D.C. The mission for the program is to engage 6-12th grade students and boost enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering and math amongst US pubic school students.

With almost a decade of feedback from this program, here are 3 best practices to increase female student interest and engage more female mentors and community leaders:: I often hear managers complain about the lack of initiative they believe is characteristic with Millennial employees and the need to “coddle” early career professionals toward the finish line.

Mid-career employees and those in middle management roles can feel stretched by work and life responsibilities and struggle to see how they can make the time to engage in corporate responsibility programs or initiate their own mentorship contribution.Samsung invited the 10 national finalist teams to present their STEM projects at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City holding a STEM Olympics fair event where the contestants displayed their ideas and attracted over 500 visitors.
