This weekend it emerged that Wahaca was charging waiters if their table ate and ran . We want to hear stories from people working waiting tables in restaurants, pubs and bars about other ways they’ve been treated poorly, whether by employers, colleagues or customers.
...as when an American rock band touring through Stuttgart, Germany had breakfast at Cafe Soho where I waitressed, drank coffee for 2 hours, thinking refills are free after the initial cup, and almost poked their guitars into me when I had to charge them for every single one?
WHY?
poverty
I was waiting for dinner with my family with half an hour.very worse service. without taken meal my family left the restaurant. As like bank has dishouner my cheque while my account was sufficient balance.
Oh goody. Then are we doing this as customers too? I would love to share my worst waiter stories here too! Some servers are nightmares.
Sir, I waited table on young master Harry and his friends. Being as I was all a dither like with so many nobs in their cups about me, don't the young buck go and ape me with a towel over his arm and a tray of plate. I'd a mind for a whipping of that young cur had it been my place
Bloody tables never arrived.
Used to work in a Little Chef. I once tripped and spilled a tray of hot chocolates onto a booth of customers, apologised and farted when I bent down to clean it up. I still got a tip (it was funny) and I pocketed it. At the end of the shift I got fired for stealing tips.
Having a lady asking my boss to fire me twice over the next week, because I 'didn't respond empathetic enough' after she had mentioned that her soup was 'too salty'. Grim.
My worst experience, most of my past in my childhood memories, most worst time my only son going to cemetery in Peace...
How about also asking for people’s best experiences? Mine was waiting on Roger Moore and his family when I was a waiter at our local carvery. He was a true Gentleman.
One time, in the middle of the day, we went into a completely empty fondue restaurant, and they still wouldn't seat us without a reservation.
If we still had to meditate before going to work, it's not necessarily the best environment, takes time one would suggest !?
Hope it's better today's, during the Bush era it was strictly coup d'eta..
...when the DEA and CPS are invoking on my territory while I am trying to do my job...
Lucky we got out we remember someone saying..
Must've been during the Iraq war, where we couldn't seem to fathom why asking about Iraqi refugees isn't allowed, the answers they provided could've been detrimental to one's mental health, for a couple of weeks we was trying to politely quit our job !?
I had to say sir yours will be a few minutes more ! I didn’t do it on purpose! The kitchen messed it up
Being disruptive and he fin Aly for quiet. When their food orders came out I passed them out one by one and I noticed the kitchen had missed an order - and it was his! The table erupted in laughter and he turned beet red as he thought I purposely left his order off . I had to
I once waited on a drunk party of 8 and one drunk was loud and kept interrupting me trying to take the order so I told him wait your turn as the whole table got to laughing at him and saying he told you and put you in your place and he got quiet. I wasn’t being mean as he was
Never have, I can tell you My experiences with Waiters and Waitresses SHAKING MY HEAD NoShit
