The company behind Carphone Warehouse and Curry's PC World has warned its UK mobile division will remain 'significantly loss-making' this year.
Dixons Carphone told investors it would take time for its plans to transform the business to deliver value as it reported results for the year to 27 April.£490m writedown in the value of its Carphone WarehouseIt divulged a statutory loss before tax of £259m for the year as a whole as a result, compared to a profit of £289m in the previous 12 months.
The company's headline profit measure, which better reflects day-to-day trading, came in at £298m - a fall of 22%.
Not surprising at all, my recent experience with them made me wonder how the company still exists... terrible staff, terrible customer service, just terrible
Free 2020 Trump and Boris phones! 😁😁😁
It’s called market saturation, the whole market has been declining for the past 2 years. Any smart investors would have cashed out long ago.
That'll be because most Carphone staff absolute Muppets. They'd rather go else were, plus sim free is the way to go with the crazy deals you can get.
Days of making significant profit from mobile phones are well gone .. more and more opting for SIM only solution ..
Thats remainers for you
Maybe drop 24 month contracts?!
Good!
