Low cost airlines are 'extorting' parents into paying fees in order to sit with their children during flights, according to an investigation headed by costofliving

A News Corp investigation has revealed that some low-cost airlines are forcing parents to pay extra to be seated next to their children on flights.

The investigation, headed by News Corp Cost of Living editor John Rolfe, found certain airlines are deliberately putting children away from their parents, then demanding that parents pay a fee for their seats to be re-allocated. Budget airline AirAsia is the worst offender, with TigerAir also implementing this practice. Mr Rolfe told Sky News this business model is putting the ‘low’ in to low cost carrier.
