AT&T's WarnerMedia is launching its new streaming service in 2020 and it includes the exclusive streaming rights to 'Friends.' The move is a blow to Netflix, which is seeing legacy media companies attack its successful streaming model.

— and allow users to find programming within those ecosystems.

While Netflix disrupted traditional pay-TV by offering content at a far lower price than the cable bundle — about $13 per month vs. $100 per month — the legacy media companies are now playing Netflix's game. Disney+, which launches Nov. 12, will be just $6.99 per month. HBO Max is likely to be between $15 and $18 a month, according to people familiar with the matter. That's nearly the same price as HBO costs already.

Beyond price differences, traditional pay-TV has been plagued by poor user interfaces and loads of unwanted content.

Hulu is really catching up to Netflix now. But I guess most ppl can afford both of them

Good because Netflix was turning into a political machine with its censured content.

$ROKU 131.00 LONG

They sure took their time figuring how the game works.

Nothing special about Netflix. Their original content is very mediocre.

If that's what I was planning

And no...I would have to audition

OMG, come see the crap they upload to their middle eastern subscribers! Its honestly a slap in the face! Every one I know is always trying to get the log in credentials of someone in the US. Half the 💩 isn't even in English & I cant opt out 🤷‍♂️ NetflixMENA netflix Netflix

$NFLX Netflix

Now, watch...me...flex

On file

Their stronghold days are numbered I can assure you

I could think of a few billion dollars Y

Friends is a crap show anyway, no loss. Plenty of new shows to watch.

I PAY for Netflix because of 2 reasons. 1) Wide Spektrum of series and movies. 2) I am not bound to a time table. If this trend of everyone establishing its own streaming continues, 1) will eventually be nullified. If that happens im unsubscribing 🤷‍♂️

The next generation of streaming will be a pulverized form where the user will be able to mount his own streaming list. Purchasing straight from producers this would reduce prices and increase fidelity (to the shows).

These companies are betting on consumers who want to have multiple streaming services subscriptions--not for me. No HBO or HBOMax for me, so bye bye Friends in 2020

The company with Susan Rice on the Board and the OBamas producing original content for them. Go cry me a river ! 😢😢😢😢😢

Short Netflix. They will be a shadow of themselves in 2years.

Assuming no pathetic whiney piece of sh?t and afford maintain positive relationship 'good person' netflix& contribute beneficial value cultured unions art .org non hostile civility humanity nothing can do opinionmatters thedirt success

Netflix has spent over $1 billon of mediocre stand up comedians. Eddie Murphy? He guy hasn’t cracked a smile in 25 years. I bet he’s hilarious at 60.

Netflix will be just another streaming site within a year or two. They focused too much on quantity and not enough on quality.

Netflix is going to find the road ahead very difficult as companies stop licensing to them and their own in house projects fail to catch on. Stranger things isn’t enough...

Nickedflix

Most popular to who? Prison inmates?😂

Netflix is much more then Friends and the Office! I have never seen neither.

Netflix is very popular, despite all that 💐💐💐

That sucks! friends is my daily dose of funny!

News channels need start streaming online for fee like 2$ month start getting away from cable. Buying Center Ice for hockey on top force get sports net package in order watch center ice just bullshit. Packages just watch 1 channel is totally unacceptable. Streaming the future

NFLX is not going out of business.

The internet is a house of cards.

Yeah, when the boomers die, so will their money train.

What makes Netflix great is it’s original content. Old school media is paying for the rights to old media. Not sure that’s the best strategy to win against Netflix

Surprisingly they lost my business after 10+ years -- because their customer service kept arguing with me.... Sad, they used to be amazing.

Flex their muscles, this couldn't be the furthest thing from the truth. They're hoping that viewers will go to their services to watch said shows, in reality, people will either pirate or watch them on illegal streaming sites in spite of these ridiculous moves.
