The 74-year-old’s income was boosted by his annual December and January gigs at Vicar Street in Dublin as well as a concert at The Marquee in Cork last June attended by 4,000 fans

The singer-songwriter, who has been performing for more than 50 years, has seen his firm Yellow Furze Limited perform exceptionally well.

In the 12 months to the end of March, it recorded profits of €290,747 – a 90% increase on gains of €152,271 logged in the previous year.The bumper year resulted in the company’s cash pile increasing by €340,549 from €794,854 to €1.135million.
