Competition watchdog tells Asda and Sainsbury's they cannot merge for at least ten years

The deal would have created the UK’s biggest supermarket chain.But in its final report, published in April, the CMA found that the joining of the two supermarkets would result in reductions in the quality and range of products available and lead to fewer online delivery options, creating a poorer overall shopping experience.
