An early morning fire has burnt at least 68 shops in Amaigbo market in Enugu state.
The cause of the fire is yet to be known, but there are speculations that it may have occurred from a power surge. Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who paid a condolence visit to the traders, directed the Chairman of Enugu North council area to take inventory of the loss caused by the fire and ascertain the cost of reconstructing the market and forward same to his office.
You should expect fire to gut slum markets...can Nigeria people build a decent market for their trade with fresh air, water and sanitation.
