Malaysia Airlines' veterans and unions urge no full privatisation, jobs cut

14 July 2019

They said the best option would be a joint venture with the government, other than Khazanah Nasional Bhd’ stake in MAB.The airline's former chief executive officer Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman and the president of National Union of Flight Attendants Malaysia Ismail Nasaruddin hoped the government to remain as majority shareholder in MAB.

Meanwhile, Ismail believed there were certain things that the government should not let go to safeguard the national carrier, as well as the national interest. Ismail opined that MAB should be monitored by the Prime Minister Office or Ministry of Finance and reduce Khazanah’s stake as the sole shareholder in the airline to eliminate any"internal noises."“Thus, the government must now allow a fresh team to lead the ailing airline,” he said.

Both Abdul Aziz and Ismail urged the interested parties to really understand the nature of the airline, its background, and its people, before making any proposals or strategic plans to avoid repeating history. “They must think about the people who are working with Malaysia Airlines.

These parasites still want handouts when MAS has already been bled to death by abuses and unmitigated corruptions.

I suppose the request of the MAS union and veterans will be an-ideal situation. It then needs a CEO and Management to be able to work together with Union leaders and veterans. All parties will have to think outside the box and willing to work together. Khazanah_MY

Bila ada campur tgn kerajaan lh pengurusan semakin curang. Bukti? Sblm ini brp ramai yg diberhentikan akibat kerakusan kumpuln tertentu

Bagi mamat ni jaga tgk. Cuba bagi cadangan camana mas boleh berdiri atas kaki sendiri tanpa asyik minta bantuan gomen. chedetofficial

Just close this thing down. It’s a gone case. The airline business is one of the most COMPETITIVE IN THR WORLD. N yet u have people still wanting it to b a charity. Close it down.

Tell something we dont know... tell us how to turn around if nothing can touch.. this is a company.. not a welfare fund.

These people don't have money to turn around MAS but they will tell govt not to do this la, that la.

Is MAS bloated ? Only the previous CEO that left for Ryanair can say. We all wanna know

Yup. No job cuts and retain the union. The new buyer should continue to provide support for all the exorbitant expenses of MAS.
