No conflict over son working for Guan Eng, says speaker Ariff

However, this did not present a conflict of interest during his decisionmaking in a motion by opposition leader Ismail Sabri Yaakob that Lim be referred to the Privileges Committee for allegedly misleading the House. “Whether there is a conflict of interest, I believe not”, adding that, as he was a former judge, even if a small concern over his independence as speaker had arisen, he would have withdrawn himself.
