UBS has deleted a tweet that singled out a journalist at the Financial Times, who incorrectly reported that the second-quarter results of the Swiss bank’s investment banking division fell short of analyst expectations.
The unusual attack was condemned on the social media platform. The European Central Bank’s head of media relations, Michael Steen, said it was “not really a good look”. One reporter said UBS should be “ashamed”, and another called it an “embarrassing public denouncement of a conscientious colleague”.
