Mathias Cormann has called on the National Australia Bank and its former chairman Ken Henry to immediately respond to revelations they knew some of the bank's financial products were ripping off customers | CroweDM

based on leaked documents including minutes of meetings held between NAB directors and executives and their auditing firm EY.

“All those who were involved should explain themselves as part of restoring confidence,” Senator Cormann said on Friday morning. Senator Cormann left open the government response to Labor's call for a wider inquiry into whether the banks have acted on the royal commission findings, saying he would not make “ad hoc” comments on the matter.Labor MP Deborah O'Neill has called for a parliamentary inquiry into the auditing sector on the grounds the controversy around NAB and EY added to concerns about the management of conflicts of interest.
