NEW YORK - Several people were stabbed in an attack at a manufacturing company in Tallahassee, Florida, on Wednesday morning , police said.

The Tallahassee Police Department said that officers responded to a call from Dyke Industries, which manufactures doors, around 8.37am. Multiple people had been stabbed, police said. The suspect was taken into custody. A local hospital, Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, said it had received six patients after the episode, but a spokeswoman could not provide details on their injuries.

A local television station, ABC 27, reported that witnesses said the suspect was an employee who had been fired.The company's site says it runs 15 distribution outlets serving the South-east, providing wood, steel and fibreglass doors and other items, and it is the corporate successor to two millwork manufacturing companies that date to 1866.
