IPOH: All flights to and from Sultan Azlan Shah Airport will resume as scheduled on Saturday (Sept 21) as the haze situation saw some improvement.

Airport general manager Mohd Ali Osman said a total of 12 flights between Singapore, Johor Baru and Ipoh would operate normally."Though the weather is hard to predict, normally everything will be okay once the haze starts to clear," he said, adding that the visibility was at 6km.

It was reported that six flights were called off due to the haze the day before, affecting almost 800 passengers. As of 10am today, however, the Air Pollutant Index reading at Pegoh and Tasek, Ipoh, showed a slight increase at 64 and 71 respectively. It was also the same in Taiping, Manjung and Tanjung Malim, with the API reading at 62, 70 and 73 respectively.

An API reading of between 0 and 50 is good while 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and 301 and above deemed hazardous.
