African languages to be offered at all schools via SABCNewsOnline

He was in Soweto earlier today as part of the Heritage day celebrations, accompanied by the party’s provincial leadership of Gauteng.

Maimane told hundreds of his party supporters, outside the Mandela National Museum at Vilakazi Street in Orlando West – that for South Africa to celebrate Heritage Day, all citizens must enjoy the fruits of a prosperous economy. “Let’s build an economy that [will] ensure that our citizens can prosper together and build one South Africa. How do you hand over a heritage o sena mmereko [without a job]. We are here to say today, we must reform our politics to also reform our economy so that more people are included. Then we can talk of a prosperous heritage for future South Africans,” explains Maimane.“We must ensure when we build an economy that works, that we [should] make sure everybody owns property.

We would dearly love to see all indigenous languages come to the mainstream agenda to unite Africa. Free trade Investment and free movement will restore peace and human dignity among Africans and boost economic growth reduce high rate of youth unemployment.

We applaud recognition of the indigenous languages they can contribute immensely to economic growth promote inclusive cultural diversity restore dignity to the indigenous people.

Include Shona and Tumbuka😎

Can we get our very own universities 🙄🙄

On top of Mandarin?

English did not just become a global language, it was developed and promoted and it still is to this day. I do not think we have the political will to do this. What about our academics and cultural institutions; what have they done?

Where they not offered?

We need to develop all languages so that they can be used as a medium of instruction in schools. Language currency does not just happen, it is a deliberate effort.

SA RENWABLE ENERGY HY-DROMÉ, to be offerd to All AFRICA states, MR PRESIDENT,, BEWARE YOU GET RESTRAIN TO KNOW OF THIS, I HAVE WAITED TO LONG with no Respond,, but as i said SA MUST BE FIRST

I wish we can have at least 2 common native languages offered across the country. E.g Zulu (any Nguni language ) +Tswana (either Pedi or Sotho) so that we can hear each other throughout the country as locals

All languages? Why cant you just develop your own, 2 languages have different approaches and is optional ...luckily Afrikaans is an african language

Yes now is the time for all South Africans to learn each other's language at schools, we know some schools promote English & Afrikaans in town& the township schools promote Xhosa home language & Afrikaans!!!!! All Western Cape& Eastern Cape schools in town must add Xhosa language

Mr no action

🤔 will the Khoisan language be included?

We have heard this before from the same minister, same government, so what is new, this government does not respect u2

😂😂😂😂😂😂we have heard of this before

Let us all build universities with the 11 African languages - not only British speaking institutions.

HYPOCRISY

I'll be fortunate if I can witness it in my lifetime!

All schools to present classes in African languages is very good. Hopefully it may be done in Afrikaans as well, right Merrs Ledufi and Nzimande? Remember Afrikaans also originated here in Africa.
