Johnson & Johnson appeals Oklahoma's $572M opioid rulingOKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Consumer products giant Johnson & Johnson is appealing an Oklahoma judge's $572 million order against the company and its subsidiaries for helping fuel the state's opioid... This is standard. It’s possible a judge will knock down the amount of the award some or considering the magnitude of opioid abuse, let it stand. It would be cool if during the appeal they actually could come back and fine them for a reasonable amount Like billions it's nice to see a giant trans-national corporation finally stand up and say 'no! we should pay more than this! the suffering and damage we caused is nearly unimaginable, we will abide nothing less than full and absolute accountability.' - to be fair, I only read the headline.
