The Dow Jones industrial average, S&P 500 index, and Nasdaq composite all rose during US trading on Monday.

Stocks gained on Monday after the Trump administration pushed back against reports that it was considering limits on US investment in China. Treasury spokesperson Monica Crowley said over the weekend the administration was not"contemplating blocking Chinese companies from listing shares on U.S. stock exchanges at this time." Shares of Apple rose as much as 2.6% after a JPMorgan analyst said its stock price could rise as much as 20% over the next 12 months.
