An elaborate Los Angeles spec mansion has sold for roughly $43 million to a buyer in the private equity sector, according to people familiar with the deal.

The property came on the market in April, priced at $46.5 million. The development team includes Max J. Fowles-Pazdro, a Los Angeles-based investor, and London & Regional Properties, which is headed by billionaire British developers Ian and Richard Livingstone.
