KUALA LUMPUR: A former Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) CEO has claimed trial at a Sessions Court here to 33 counts of corruption involving more than RM5mil in bribe.

The bribe is said to have been in exchange for her approving entrepreneurial programmes and the appointment of companies.

Datuk Zahrah Abd Wahab Fenner, 60, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read out to her before Sessions Court judge Azura Alwi here on Wednesday . According to the first to 28th charges, Zahrah had received a total of RM5,718,000 from one Ramulianto Mohram through Mohamad Shahren Mohamad Yusri as a reward for approving the applications to organise Program Online Networking Entrepreneurs SSM 2015 and Program Karnival Youngpreneurs, Go! , among others.
