The 22-year-old economics and politics student at Wits University signed up straight after high school to train as a bartender to make extra money as a new student.

Earlier this year, Khanyile won the Newcomer of the Year award at the 2019 South African BAR awards, she was also in the top ten internationally. “It has been good, but there has been some stereotype issues with me being a woman. For instance with whiskey, men look down on you and think you couldn’t possibly know what you’re talking about,” she said.“There's always people trying to get your number, but you’re just trying to work,” she said.
