'There's going to be another meat industry, it's going to be worth a trillion dollars within the next 30 years, and it's not going to be animal meat.' 9News

Hazel, who has worked in food sales for the majority of his career, said there is rising awareness among consumers about how sustainable their food is and big players, such as fast food outlets and supermarkets, should get on board or risk being left behind.Australia is currently the world's third-largest exporter of red meat and the industry generates more than 18 billion dollars per year. And, Hazel insisted, it is the perfect place for a start-up.

"They are two completely and utterly different products made from vastly different processes and one is a natural product and one is a replica," he said. Hutchinson says that although he supports the idea of collaboration, he struggles to see how the two industries could work together."These products have been marketed as an alternative to meat so how do you work alongside if it's an alternative?"

Why spending so much time and energy creating fake meat? If we're serious about reducing our carbon footprint. We should just eat as simple and as much unprocess fruits and vegies as possible.

Everything we need in our diet was put on this planet,meat-iron,veges-vitamins, water-body/blood/muscle function.if u don't believe this u CAN'T believe in GOD or our planet.sadsad world..

No thanks

Oh, yes. This is a gloomy industry, and people don't realize how they have been used. Eat this, don't eat that, this is bad to environment, this is good.... Innocent people, this is all about making money....🙄

Please do not call it meat

I had a Beyond meat Attire the other day and it was great......

Why do you need plant based meat? What is wrong with the way some of us now eat our vegetables & pulses?

Minerals elements timbers aluminium latex steel

Then they will protest about all the plants being harmed to produce this crap

Thank god!

Stick the legumes where the sun don't shine. Thanks to you vegans or whatever your called. I am over vegetables.

Could that mean in 20 years time we will have less plants & more meat? Or, maybe less of both?

Plant based meat? Never.

I really hope so, this way a nice steak could be cheaper

This is my meat based grilled cauliflower

Cancers come from fake processed foods yet you think this is a good idea Cancer patties

Then it isn't meat is it....I call false advertising and one lawsuit should take care of that nonsense

30 years !!! Seriously !! You cannot call plant based food 'meat', what if all the crops fail, it has happened in the past, we need both industries to feed a growing world population. So it will be plant based food, sea food, meat, guess what the world population will be in 30 y

If it's not meat. Then don't call it meat!

We don’t have to eat it

About Time

yuk

Actually encourage everyone to try the beyond burger, it's pretty fuckin good

Yet eating this modified meat causes swelling, pain in the stomach and fatigue that I don’t get from meat, because of what they put into the mix

No plant is as good as the taste of real meat.

I can see this being another 'milk' debate

So fast foods going out of business and more people will start cooking there own burgers at home!

Who has lamb burgers?

and thats why the Vegan agenda is being pushed...its all about the money because there are NO health benefits in eating rabbit food....eat healthy (lol) and theres a trillion $ business, get sick and big Pharma wins too...its a perfect scam.

Sounds like bullshit. Meat free Monday's means more meat for me.

You cannot turn vegies into meat. You can only simulate the appearance and taste. My question - WTH are they using in the recipe to make vegies 'taste' like meat?

Why do they call it plant based meat. It’s not meat, it’s veggies.

I love meat very much however at Grill'd l now order the plant based burger...........🍔

Laughable ...

i doubt that verymuch
