The BBC's Andrew Marr was asking her about the potentially damaging effects of a hard Brexit on British business.

Andrew Marr told off Home Secretary Priti Patel like a disappointed teacher when she appeared on his show today.on British business. Some claimed Ms Patel was ‘smirking’ as he listed the business organisations with concerns about Brexit policy.neither smiling or laughing’.The exchange happened on the Andrew Marr show, with Ms Patel being interviewed via a video link to the studio rather than in person.

‘They said that this proposal is a serious risk to manufacturing competitiveness, and will result in huge new costs and disruption to UK firms.‘It’s got the potential to risk consumer and food safety and confidence, access to overseas markets for UK exporters, and vital future investment in innovation in this country.’

Ms Patel did not respond to the laughing claim, but told him: ‘This is why the government has been working assiduously – with business as well I should say – across a range of sectors when it comes to planning for our exit from the European Union.’ .Accept she is neither smiling or laughing.
