When I told a friend I was testing Instant Pot's new Ace blender, he asked me how it was possible for the same appliance to pressure-cookmake a smoothie. As far as I know, it's not. The Instant Pot blender has none of the same functions as the, but like the brand's namesake product, it is a multi-use machine with built-in programs.
The nut milk feature was by far my favorite on the Ace. The blender comes with a straining bag for separating the pulp from the milk, but the bag has an awkward shape so it's easier to just use a piece ofand strain the milk over a large bowl. Alt-milk makes up the bulk of the blender's programs , and I can easily see the product being marketed by a smart salesperson as a more than just a blender but an "alt-milk machine.
One thing it can't be marketed as, however, is an ice cream machine. When I saw that one of the push-buttons on the base was gleaming with the words "ice cream," I was excited at the prospect of making ice cream without having to own a special machine. But I was also cautious that I had fallen victim to deceptive marketing—could this glass pitcher really get cold enough to produce ice cream?Of course it can't.
Except vitamix is Made in the USA. Not sure where this one is made as they aren’t super forthcoming with that info.
Pampered Chef’s Deluxe Cooking Blender is a worthy competitor. I use mine every day. I love making soups, smoothies, apple butter, and jams.
Maybe now Vitamix will drop it’s prices. The consumer scores had already been declining and the market needed the competition.
