Amazon's first grocery store could be key to extending its e-commerce dominance to physical retail:

Business Insider Intelligence

Amazon's new grocery store could have a few key focuses meant to make the most of its brick-and-mortar efforts. It could be used as a testing ground for new in-store technologies. Amazon could use the store to test and train its Go technology eventually, and it might introduce other features like the biometric hand-scanning payment method it's testing, potentially allowing it to improve in-store shopping and license its solutions to other retailers.
