Johannesburg - The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa and the South African Cabin Crew Association have expressed concern over developments at the national carrier, SAA.
The two organisations said despite SAA management insisting that the flight cancellations had nothing to do with the national airline's financial crisis, they found it difficult to accept the explanation. Numsa and Sacca said the government’s refusal to avail the money to help the airline was an attempt to collapse the airline.
“Gordhan and Mboweni have gone out of their way to undermine and devalue the brand and reputation of the airline. “Their actions are the reasons why we continue to call for the immediate removal of the board because they are part of the reason that SAA has collapsed.
I wonder if that R2b bailout is paid, will not be used for the backdated salary increases.

For years, Numsa_Media and Sacca aggressively pushed SAA for unsustainable remuneration levels that logically could only push SAA into bankruotcy. Well, time is finally up. Let's hope militant unions learn from it.
You should know you are part of the sabotage. Now maybe, just maybe you will understand what real world economics is all about. I won’t hold my breath though. Please pass the message on to the other unions.
No Numsa and Sacca - we are all tired of the big black hole that is flysaa - billions of rand’s worth of bailouts every year. With no positive results. No one is buying the sob story any more. Too many fingers have been burnt. It’s enough! ENOUGH!
Numsa_Media are always able to raise the cash themselves if they think the others cannot...What do they think this is Some free for all SAA is finished Numsa
