Traffic officers given recognition for hard work during festive season

and Transport MEC’s from various provinces presented the awards during the release of the 2019/2020 Festive Season Road Accidents Statistics in Pretoria.The number of road fatalities and injuries over the past festive season has dropped by 10% compared to the previous year.Mbalula says the officers should be commended.

“These are no-nonsense kind of traffic officers who don’t take ‘cool drink’ , who understand that safety on the roads is not negotiable. Officer Sithole Hlophe from KwaZulu-Natal Road Traffic Inspectorate, for consistent performance on drunk and driving operations. This officer arrested 109 motorists for drunk and driving over the festive season.”
