A company behind a Co. Louth pub and restaurant has been found to have owed €4.8million in tax by the Revenue for under-declaration of PAYE/PRSI/USC and VAT.

When interest and penalties are added, the total owed to Revenue by Sherwood Investments Ltd., with an address at Rockmarshall, Jenkinstown, Dundalk and trading as Fitzpatrick's Bar and Restaurant at the same address, was €10.9m with €10.4m still unpaid at the end of last year.

The information is published by Revenue in the List of Tax Defaulters this afternoon. It covers the period October 2019 to 31 December 2019. Amongst the other cases mentioned is the radio presenter Neil Prendeville, with an address at Douglas Road, Cork.A statement issued on his behalf by BDM Boylan Solicitors, states that Mr Prendeville brought and settled legal proceedings against his former accountancy firm and that a new accountancy firm "…were employed to rectify the situation."

Life Line Ambulance Service Ltd., with an address at Ryebrook Industrial Park, Leixlip, was found to owe €416,965 including interest and penalties for under-declaration of PAYE/PRSI/USC.Jason Taylor, a haulier trading as TLS Ireland, with an address in Erneside Business Park in Ballyshannon, Co Donegal, owed €656,689 including interest and penalties for under-declaration of income tax,PAYE/PRSI/USC and VAT.
