ROME - Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said on Saturday that all Italian businesses must close until April 3, with the exception of those essential to maintaining the country’s supply chain, in the latest desperate effort to halt the coronavirus epidemic. Italy recorded a jump in deaths from the virus of almost 800 on Saturday, taking the toll in the world’s hardest-hit country to almost 5,000.
“It is the most difficult crisis in our post-war period,” Conte said in a video posted on Facebook, adding that “only production activities deemed vital for national production will be allowed”. Supermarkets, pharmacies, postal and banking services will remain open, Conte said, and essential public services including transport will be ensured. The government is expected to publish an emergency decree on Sunday to make the latest crackdown immediately effective.
Wait, what?! They didn’t before. So I hope no one is paying scientists to figure out why they are leading the globe in deaths 🤦♀️ Side note: I’ve noticed I’ve used this emoji a lot this week 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
意大利加油!你们一定可以战胜病毒。💪💪💪
What are you guys waiting ? Wasn’t enough having 53.578 people been affected from that Various and 4825 been dead. Please stop the F joke and shut the whole city down for at least two months.
.... !!!!!!!.....
Yes, ppl, only now...cause we have a shit*ty government. that's why.
I thought this type of lockdown was in place since last week
Only now? 🤭
Too late
I think it may be a little too late for that.
I wonder how they view ScuderiaFerrari
Should we do everything they're doing, now?
Please close for month
Wait .. they haven’t yet 🤦🏻♂️
To my Italian friends I say, 'America stands by you!' And when Italy re-emerges, even better and stronger -- GO AFTER the Chinese. Make CCP pay a heavy financial price for the pain and deaths and economic losses of Italy. MakeCCPPay
...and Italians try to understand what is a 'non-strategic business activity' and wait for official documents...
It doesn't make sense if the lockdown is too loose
