SpaceX will now assess the costs and technical challenges of the project, while initial tests are expected in 2021.Elon Musk's SpaceX and the US military plan to build a 7,500 mph rocket that can deliver 80 tonnes of cargo to anywhere in the world in 60 minutes. "Think about moving the equivalent of a C-17 payload anywhere on the globe in less than an hour," Lyons said. "I can tell you SpaceX is moving very, very rapidly in this area. I'm really excited about the team that's working with SpaceX."

Is it true?

Put PETMAN on the rocket and have him mine an asteroid and fly it back.

This is an idiotic idea. Just use a cargo plane. Weapons are useless without people to operate them. It doesn’t help for weapons to arrive hours earlier than soldiers can deploy. This is another SpaceX/military boondoggle. Some stupid brass have bought into Musk hype.

elonmusk As a pilot test send it to Armenia.

We’re doing Instacarts of WMDs now?

boycotttesla

can these rockets deliver other things too?

A very click-baitey headline. It really means *any* cargo anywhere in an hour. The headline makes it sounds like it's delivering a warhead directly. It actually *could* be used for delivering aid, etc. (though probably not by the military, granted.)

Imagine how much more impressive this would be if it was in metric...

Just as well the us president is not out his face on mind bending steroids.

Nooooooooo. How about Relief Rockets food water StopAliyev StopErdogan Rohingya syria hurricanes anythingbutwar

The business insider headline is a lie. It’s for cargo. It’s not a weapons delivery platform.

Mr. Stark, is that you?

Deliver WEAPONS cause that's what's important/as Serious sarcasm Holy crap Lock bvb them up in an insane asylum Not/s

Imagine using it to deliver humanitarian aid.... What was I thinking

Maybe they can stick Trump on one of these and deliver him to Putin in 1 hour.

So it’s like Amazon Prime but with nukes.

Elon Musk turned Iron Man off after the first 15 min

can’t wait for the TrueAnonPod ep on this disruptor

Weapons, of course... 🤦‍♂️

Disgusting.

c_kumalo elonmusk Elon Musk, got the hell out of South-Africa when he got the chance, and today he won't even mention us. So sad.

Why would it be weapons ? Why not medicines ? elonmusk

South African College memories Speak English

You might want to check your math there. 'Anywhere in the Earth' in 1 hour? ½ of the circumference of Earth is 12,450 miles (20,000 km). So how on Earth (pun intended) is a rocket going 7,500 miles per hour going to get 12,430 miles in an hour? elonmusk

Apogee ballistics Transportation is the future of fast Cargo delivery

Foresight

Doing some math here: the circumference of the earth is 24,901 miles. Divide that by 2, you get 12,450 miles. The world rotates around in 24 hours, so at most you can reduce the distance to the other side by 12, 450/24 = 519. So you still need to cover 11,930 miles in an hour.

Yeah, Musk's input is going to be soooo invaluable again. Why do they bother working with this clown?

I don't know if it is somewhat related to Force Application and Launch from CONUS once envisioned by DARPA?

Why won’t we use some of these tech toy innovations to update our transportation systems? It’s about time we are able to travel quicker. Able to live in other places and get rid of mega clustering.

No wonder a rookie tech organization started sending Rockets in space within few years what actually took NASA 100ds of years to build ...

Yes, they are called ICBMs there were invented 60 years ago. What next, Elon Musk announces he discovered something wet , he's going to call it water?

Than what 😅

Very disappointed

Is Amazon Prime going to compete with this or what! I WANT my weapons in a brown cardboard box!!

NOW THATS HOW YOU DELIVER A PRODUCT! Tell Jeff bezos to SUCK IT!

When are you going to get some balls and stand behind science and stand against Trump and his idiots?

Feed the homeless.

$AYI short squeeeze alert $Swav fraud

Stark Industries This guy one day will be flying in an Iron Man suit!!!

Wow 😳

this is getting serious elon! You are literally joining war!

Why not a rocket to deliver medicine, and help aids? Don't we have enough weapons to blow the whole planet?

What a great accomplishment for the Great Orange Chief and his Space Force general elonmusk perhaps some cremains of the more than 200,000 🇺🇸 Covid19 victims could ride inside toward Armageddon with the rest of the world 🌎

How long will it take to load 80 tons of stuff into a rocket and what will be the delivery cost ? I think a courier company will be quicker and cheaper. So , I guess it has to be a weapon. More bang for your buck.

All rockets are dual use. The Space Command is exploring using a Starlink like platform for missile launch warning. I suspect this is just another BI clickbait headline. I refuse to go behind their paywall and actually read the article.

'making the world a better place'* *contract dependent, terms and conditions apply

Why can't it deliver the mail?

Как бы соединить в одном дивайсе = 5G+ Starlink+Wi-Fi+ GPS !!! Было бы очень здорово!!! И только одна приёмная антенна с Wi-Fi, не требующая разрешений и регистраций !

Do we really need this? Arent there other more pressing matters in the world where we should focus on?

Well that's helpful?

Him and mark z. Are the next james bond vilans.... 🤦🏻‍♂️

Tony Stark!! 🔥🔥

Wow . Isn’t there something else this money could be funded towards

Societies get into trouble when fools have long memories and clever people has none. No one said wisdom and morality are equal. Is it because our own nonchalance or perhaps we believe our efforts are insignificant in the great history of our planet.

Because the best use of tech is to KILL OTHER PEOPLE!!!

🐉🖤🤮🐃💩. Mark of the Beast System bull. Repent Elon Musk. Investors, Wall Street, DayTraders, You better wake up. Repent. Get out & off of Wall Street.

So, NOT the popular TechForGood ...rather TechForBad? 💩

We’ve been discussing elonmusk developments on the pod as a matter of interest, but I have to admit that neuralink, SpaceXStarlink and weapons is starting to paint a picture.

what happened to 2012 'let's-make-humanity-interplanetary-Musk'

wtf

Yoo! The US needs a high speed rail system

This don't look very good for some reason.

“Now I am become death, destroyer of worlds” i expected faster🤷‍♂️

That will help the planet Musk planning a new weapons delivery system. 😥

Miami is 9331 miles from Sydney, soooo...

Musk is fucking iron man

Its like fortnite. Lol

Wars are ego games mostly piting two people...that eventually pull all humanity to a conflict that they know naught about. In every fight/conflict always ask yourself this question: ‘do I even know what I am fighting for?!’

God almighty, and these people feel proud of making such a statement? Deliver weapons? What the hell is wrong with society?! Do we EVER learn?!

When you get what you want but not what you need...

Thought Elon Musk's gift of physis genius is to improve the quality of lives of humanity and not for destruction?

Instead of developing our capacity to hurt each other we should focus on developing our capacity help and protect each other as human beings.

Is he gonna use the same glue as Tesla car?

Consciousness is the greatest weapon on earth that will not change. How fast can a text message travel? auspol elonmusk USAembassyinOZ

Do I get it free if it's late?

Wait doesn’t China’s see Tesla as a national security?

thats is a disaster , sure he went to the space station but that primarily Nasa , this guy has roofs blowing off of cars and cars falling apart what could go wrong allowing him to have weapons

Musk can head back to Canada... b/c when Canada 'sends its people, they’re not sending their best.

😳wow! One hour!

But we can’t deliver aid to refugees or feed people in famines. Got it.

Wtf? Impossible near future

They must ask Russia how to make it

Being a warcriminal is like knighthood in this country.
