The assertion is contained in a communique signed by Dr. Nwose Emmanuel and Dr. Okoacha Innocent, Chairman and Secretary of the association respectively.
The NMA alleged,”Painfully, some experienced and competent colleagues have left the state because of high taxation, and this ultimately affects efficient healthcare delivery to Deltans.” The NMA appealed to Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa to grant doctors and other healthcare workers tax waivers as was done in Edo & Kano States in the past, by the exempting of our call duty/shift duty, specialist and teaching allowances from taxation.
“We are optimistic that the exemption of these earned allowances from being taxed would put an end to the exodus of healthcare workers from the state, thus ultimately promoting a well-packaged health care delivery to Deltans.”
Hmm, this reminds me of how Lagos State lost it to Ogun state. Look! If someone tells you it's because of land space, the person lied. Kindly still conclude by yourself for yourself. Kini tiwa nbe!
