On the eve of the country’s biggest automotive industry event, the, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines or CAMPI says the industry is now “on track to a full recovery.”
The passenger car segment also grew albeit at a slower pace of 37.6 percent with sales of 6,733 units from 4,894 units in August last year. This figure is a 6.1 percent improvement compared to July’s 6,346 units. However, in terms of volume, the biggest contribution went to the light commercial vehicle category with sales of 17,973 units or a significant 106 percent increase versus 8,723 units in the same period last year. The LCV category includes the likes of pickup trucks and mid-sized SUVs.
