The Valenzuela City government on Monday, Oct. 17, held the ground breaking and capsule-laying ceremonies for its new Legislative and People’s Center, and Finance buildings at the city hall compound.

Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie “Wes” Gatchalian led the activity, along with Vice-Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, Department of Interior and Local Government – Valenzuela City Director Mary Jane Nacario, Valenzuela City Police Station Chief Col. Salvador Destura, city councilors, and other guests.

Mayor Gatchalian said the four-storey Legislative and People’s Center building, which will be the new center for the City Council, will feature different facilities such as the new Plenary Session Hall, Office of the Vice-Mayor, Councilors Offices, and a 100-seater employees’ food hall. The building will be constructed on 11,199.64 square meters of land and has a budget of P2925,120,778.62.
