Local operators withdrew assistance because were concerned about negative attention and comments on social media, according to the report tabled at the Emergencies Act inquiry

The RCMP requested help from more than 100 tow truck companies in Canada and the United States to dismantle the Coutts, Alta., border blockade but they all refused, says an RCMP report tabled with the inquiry examining the federal government’s invocation of the Emergencies Act.

The service then reached out to more than 80 different tow truck companies in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan, as well as more than 25 companies in the United States, but they all refused to help remove vehicles, the report adds. The commission has heard extensively about issues procuring heavy tow trucks in Ottawa, where tow truck operatorsif they agreed to help remove the big rigs, pick-up trucks and other vehicles entrenched in the city’s downtown core. There were similar concerns in Windsor with availability of tow trucks.

On Wednesday, the commission heard from Jim Willett, the mayor of the Village of Coutts, which had a population of 245 people as of the most recent census. He said his village was divided by the protest, with about 70 per cent of people in support. “We still have neighbors who won’t talk to each other because of the protests,” he added.

This concern came up in conversation with one of the blockade organizers, Mr. Willett testified, and he recalled that he told the organizer: “the longer it went on, the more the opportunity existed for outside elements to come in and cause disruption.”

Hello CRA! Bribes are income.

So?

Now this what we must call - Freedom to Max. The picture of - Freedom killing Freedom, is becoming more & more clear.

Tow truck drivers are considered truckers who drive a truck for a living, so truckers paying truckers not to work only on globalist news

Everything coming from the globe and mail is always so vague !!!! What is the source of the info!!? have some integrity!

Source?

He said she said. That’s some stellar reporting

Sounds like a conspiracy theory. Any concrete evidence about this?

Government governs with consent

Which police force was it that told our government the emergency act was necessary?

That is not illegal. The city of Ottawa has tow truck drivers on contract. If they did not wish to tow trucks that is their call.

Isn’t that how capitalism works?

There is zero evidence that tow truck operators were paid by the Convoy. This is propaganda.

Maybe the towtruck drivers were standing in solidarity with the truck driver's just a guess

Really? They didn't want to step into the middle of an illegal blockade and ask the owner of a vehicle to stand down while they peacefully towed it away? Who would have guessed !!

So none of them will be allowed to bid on federal, provincial or municipal contracts?

Because the government is just that unpopular

Would like to know the names of the ones who said they would help

Is there any reason why a private tow truck operator would risk their privately owned equipment in a volatile situation like this? Can the authorities compel them to enter a possibly dangerous situation?
