Former PPC chief financial officer Tryphosa Ramano and communications consultant and former journalist Rich Mkhondo have been identified in a forensic investigation report as the source of leaks of market-sensitive information to the media in 2017. The information was related to a potential merger between JSE-listed cement producer PPC and competitor AfriSam.
ENSafrica opinion ENSafrica’s key findings were that the investigative process adopted by Exactech was flawed, because it only analysed the computer hard drive of Ramano and no other employees, while also failing to interview several witnesses who could potentially have shed light on the concerns. The firm added that the conclusion arrived at by Exactech is not supported by the available evidence.
