Since he retired last year, Chris Breier has spent five days a week volunteering in Montreal's Falaise St-Jacques, an escarpment sandwiched between St-Jacques Street in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce neighbourhood, Highway 20 and a railroad.
Volunteers like Breier are vital to Montreal's urban biodiversity, according to local ecologists who hope the attention from the city hostingwill lead to the expansion of more green spaces on its territory — and more citizen involvement in maintaining them. The United Nations Environment Program listed fragmentation of natural areas as one of the key issues COP15 plans to address.
According to Park People, a national charity that collects data on urban parks across Canada, Montreal has a total of 6,446 hectares of parks and green space. In comparison, Toronto has 8,086 hectares and Vancouver has 1,164.
Cannabis and plastic waste: some of that waste no doubt is about packaging demands for safety reasons. All aspects of life are involved in the use of plastics, so very comphrehensive plans have to be in place to replace plastics.
Or pass a piss test when you start a new job...
The majority knew… 😂 but good ole legacy media propping up black face Trudy…
The govt neglected environmental concerns .....what a big surprise!!!! Guess they deserve the raise they rcvd
Do you know how many baggies it take so Canada Post don't find out it's weed in the package by the smell? At least 3 baggies.
Another example of Lib government failure when introducing something new, must be someone else's fault though, like the cons lol
Just Cannabis industry? Oh please, look into the apparel industry, any Dollar Store, grocery store..Walmart. Everything is wrapped up in Plastic!! That we take home in a paper bag.....
Everything in the grocery and retail stores is covered in plastic. Start there. Doesn’t milk come in 3 plastic bags, inside a plastic bag with a plastic tie?
Plastic doob tubes 😂😂 Seriously, all those midnight tokers exhaling excessively are causing global warming for sure
Just recycle them.
..... Seriously? What was the environmental impact of imprisonment for cannabis related crimes?
I’m sure an article about the billions of disposable masks making their way into our oceans will be next right? Right? Oh no that’s right the cbc cheerlead useless and wasteful mask mandates. Defund the cbc
Don't need plastic, use help
And all the masks?
Single use plastics....
Don’t look at building materials
If this is the biggest environmental issue we have - then we really have none. Maybe concentrate on plastic bottles.
Government and the regulations ruin everything they touch
Geezer CBC. The three R's...Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. People who use 'Dube Tube's' definitely reuse and recycle. So your article is a waste of time. Try to find out more information on Ms. Ng or ethics violations of the current power, national security risks etc.
Never understood why you can't bring your own glass or reusable plastic container and buy it from a larger bulk container instead of this prepackaged nonsense. Then if you want them to roll for you just pay like a $2 fee to have them roll your joint. Simple fix.
Almost like a plastic straw.
Thank your local liberal JustinTrudeau when he bought votes and pushed this through to further his own agenda. Same thing is happening for his push to bring in immigrants in at an exponential rate Canada
PLS change the headline - OCS HAS A PLASTIC WASTE ISSUE
LMFAO the government is 100% to blame with their absurd regulations.
defundcbc fakemedia is the opiate of the masses
At least you can reuse plastic bags for many things. These are total trash after one use.
🙄
...but thank god we don't have plastic straws...
Here we go
They banned straws. Baby steps.
They are all along our highways now. Our pothead PM didn't see this coming, but maybe we can recycle them and make jumbo drinking straws for those who prefer cocktails at home over dope while driving.
They should use Hemp made packaging or smokable packaging
Now do the carbon footprint the heat and light required to grow it.
Plastic straws, plastic bag and now soon tubes. Check. Let me know whenever we are ready for another plastic villain.
I dunno about all, but my local provincial cannabis shop has a bin you can bring in your containers to be melted down for prosthetics. Pretty cool.
😂😂😂
lol do people say doob tubes? 😂
The street dealers used paper bags or none. But government…,,,,,
