Walmart said it has reached agreements with all 50 US states as part of a $3.1 billion nationwide opioid settlement.

In November, the retailer announced a settlement from multiple states’ attorneys general that accused the company of failing to regulate opioid prescriptions contributing to the nationwide opioid crisis.

Walmart added that it “strongly disputes the allegations in these matters, and these settlements do not include any admission of liability.” “Promising negotiations,” are still underway with other pharmacies including Walgreen\n \n s and CVS\n \n , James’ office said last month. Those two chains have tentatively agreed to pay a combined $10 billion to settle lawsuits brought by states and local governments alleging the retailers mishandled prescriptions of opioid painkillers.

This opioid settlement and all the others I've seen are inadequate by a factor of 10X or more- treatment and loss of earnings alone. Lawyers call this capitulation a settlement.

Cool now talk about fentanyl

Walmart is an evil capitalist company, this is why we need higher taxes.

Wells Fargo fined $1.7 billion for 'illegal activity' including unjust foreclosures, vehicle repossessions | CNN BusinessFederal regulators fined Wells Fargo $1.7 billion on Tuesday for 'widespread mismanagement' over multiple years that harmed over 16 million consumer accounts. Again? But by all means GOPers, keep voting for the people that lift restrictions for predators like Wells Fargo. They probably still made 5 billion on top of that doing these things. Doubt they still didn’t come out on top after fines and costs associated with exposure and settlement. This is normally how these things seem to work out. Isn’t an effective deterrent.
