If there was one person driving the news cycle in 2022, it was Elon Musk.
While others shoot for the moon, Musk aims for Mars. Up to now his aim has been pretty good. History will judge whether 2022 was the year we reached peak-Elon or just a bump on the road in the seemingly relentless march of Musk. In February Ukraine’s vice prime minister and minister of digital transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, tweeted Musk asking for the SpaceX chief to send Starlink internet satellite access stations to aid the nation’s response to Russia’s invasion.
One possible revenue stream Musk promoted was a paid subscription that would replace Twitter's previous system of"blue check" account verification. The move was not universally popular . . .showed that 50 of Twitter’s 100 biggest advertisers left the platform within a month of Musk’s takeover taking approximately $750 million in 2022 ad spending with them.Any other business?Tesla remained the world's biggest automaker by market cap.
