High-school students from across Sudbury were at Cambrian College Jan. 12 to learn some of the key ABCs of business.
“We are seeing more young people taking a very keen interest in business and entrepreneurship, and we want to help foster those skills,” said Parvinder Arora, Dean of Cambrian’s Schools of Business, IT, and Media Art & Design. “This competition is a great way for students to experience what is possible in the world of business and how they can begin that journey by pursuing an education that focusses on business.
More than bragging rights were on the line. The event was sponsored by KPMG, which provided to competition winners eight $500 scholarships to any business program at Cambrian College. “We think this is an amazing idea and we’re happy to be the leading sponsor of this competition,” said Kyle Ellis from KPMG. “The business world is in need of young, eager, and focused graduates and we’re hoping that offering eight winning students a scholarship worth $500 will inspire them to pursue business once they are done high school.
