Charging up your inverters during peak times could spike up demand by 1 400MW, or at least one stage of load shedding, according to Eskom's estimates.
The power utility at its State of the System briefing last week shared ways households could do their bit to reduce load shedding. These include using electricity efficiently and also delaying the charging of inverter systems.
