ITV PLC ITV, +3.20%, a broadcasting company, and investment advisors firm Hargreaves Lansdown PLC HL, +2.97% rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks rallied 3.20% and 2.97%, respectively. Shares of wholesalers firm Ferguson PLC FERG, -2.70% and technical services company Intertek Group PLC ITRK, -1.57% shed 2.70% and 1.57%, respectively.

The pound was up 0.43% against dollar GBPUSD, +0.44% at $1.2197 and 0.09% against the euro GBPEUR, +0.12% at €1.1566.
