Accounting and finance professionals in Singapore and throughout the Asia-Pacific region are leaving employers at a high rate, according to the Institute of Management Accountants .
Professionals’ reasons for leaving their company or the industry vary, from low job satisfaction to disengagement with work or the workplace. Data from the IMA report showed that 50% of professionals want to leave the accounting/finance profession in the next 12 months because they felt disengaged with work or the workplace.
Of the professionals intending to leave the profession, 26% feel that their contributions are not adequately valued in their organisation, whilst 22% said they were overworked for too long and chose to disengage.
