The Fort Worth Zoning Commission denied a conditional use permit for the storage of hazardous materials at Terra-Vaults Inc. in Echo Heights.

Echo Heights resident Letitia Wilbourn said an odor that could be smelled in her backyard was traced back to a nearby business, Terra-Vaults Inc. The Zoning Commission denied a conditional use permit Wednesday that would have allowed the company to store hazardous materials on its property.A manufacturing company was denied a zoning change by the city Zoning Commission on Wednesday following opposition from areas residents and questions about its compatibility with the neighborhood.

The company manufactures precast polymer concrete enclosures and vaults for telecommunications purposes.
