A Houston investor has $120 million in backing from financial giants Blackrock and Citadel Securities to challenge the NASDAQ and NYSE with a stock exchange in Dallas.
Though many local stock exchanges have come and gone over the years, Lee thinks Texas will energize him and the Texas Stock Exchange with its If Dallas culturally shifts to become more like New York or Chicago, financial meccas, as a result of the Texas Stock Exchange, experts predict more outside companies will eye Texas as a viable state for its headquarters or office spaces, said Amirhossein Fard, assistant professor of finance at the University of North Texas.
