Caper Counter may move beyond convenience stores, considering Caper is in talks with firms in the beauty and cafeteria industries about implementing the solution

an AI-powered shopping cart, introduced a countertop that uses AI to try to create a seamless self-checkout experience, per a press release sent to Insider Intelligence.To use the "Caper Counter" shoppers place their selected items on the designated area so the technology can identify the products using computer vision and automatically determine the cost of the purchase. Consumers then complete their payments with credit and debit cards or NFC payment options.

Caper Counter is currently deployed at multiple stores belonging to an undisclosed national convenience store chain, with plans to add more locations. The solution is meant for stores smaller than 10,000 square feet and fewer than 10,000 unique products. And , CEO Lindon Gao told Insider Intelligence.Most autonomous checkout technology providers are trying to retrofit existing stores with networks of cameras and other technology, which can be complicated.
