I was lucky to have great health insurance through my wife and money in my savings account, but I was able to redeem points to avoid dipping into my emergency fund. I'm now settling into a new freelance routine, and even though I'm making much less money than before, I'm also happier.In the middle of March, I started doing what everyone who was lucky enough to have the flexibility to avoid in-person interaction did: Working from home.

As spring dragged on, though, those feelings of gratefulness turned to frustration. I found myself pondering the meaning of any of my work. Other than seeing a direct deposit amount arrive in my bank account every two weeks, what was the point of all these endless Zoom calls? Why was I tethered to my email inbox? If the adage of "life is what you make it" is indeed true, I was making it miserable.

They want you to agree to give them more access to your info, info that they wouldn't usually be able to hold against you, just to get a couple of points boost. If your score is over 700, there really isn't an advantage.
