The newsletter function comes as Twitter’s stock heads for a seven-year high. During Monday’s earnings call, Twitter announced it had its second $1 billion quarter, squashing fears that the platform may struggle after banning Trump’s account.

The company announced its acquisition of the editorial content platform Revue in January, thereby entering the newsletter marketplace.

Newsletter authors can choose to make their publications free or paid, according to the company. Revue takes a 5% fee for paid newsletters. Other companies that have done well in recent years by helping independent operators monetize their audiences include Substack and Patreon. Substack charges a 10% fee for paid newsletters and Patreon between 5% and 12%.

'it had its second $1 billion quarter, squashing fears that the platform may struggle after banning Trump’s account.' The quarter ended Dec 31. Trump was banned in Jan 8. You won't know what effect of Trump ban has until Q1 report is out.

Huh? they didn’t ban the account until after the quarter was over.
