Bursa Malaysia Bhd is seeking opportunities to collaborate with financial technology companies or other strategic partners to strengthen its value proposition, thus increasing its agility and efficiency.
Hence, Muhamad Umar said Bursa Malaysia has completed two PoCs whereby the collaborations were part of the exchange’s focus on technology-driven innovation. Commenting on SGX’s plan, Muhamad Umar said the local bourse sees SGX as a strong competitor and as a partner. “We will also continue to engage in collaborations and knowledge sharing with specific peer exchanges. However, there are no plans to merge with any exchange, at this time.”
