Stocks opened higher Monday, kicking off the last trading week of May on a positive note after back-to-back weekly declines for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500.
Analysts said investor worries over a pickup in inflation may be moderating as Treasury yields remain relatively stable. The Dow DJIA, +0.32% was up 120 points, or 0.3%, at 34,327, while the S&P 500 SPX, +0.66% advanced 0.5% to 4,178. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, +1.09% advanced 0.6% to 13,552.31.
