Some experts wonder if a resurrected species would have high enough genetic diversity for a healthy population.

We have so many existing species that are struggling what rationale is there for trying to bring back a species that lost its battle and went extinct almost 100 years ago? This looks like a vanity project and it's hard to think of any upside here.
